I am a freelance photojournalist based in Toronto, where I've been documenting the arts and culture scene in words and pictures.
I'm a regular contributor to
blogTO, Toronto's source for hyper-local arts, music, film, fashion, food and news coverage.
My photographs have also been published in
Reader’s Digest,
24 Hours,
Metro News,
Spacing,
Chart,
Fast Forward,
NOW Magazine and
Sports Illustrated.
In the past three years I've covered such diverse stories as: Canada's Next Top Model auditions, Igor Kenk's bike heist, zombie walks, Honda Indy, Gay Pride Day, Nuit Blanche, Edgefest, VFest, Woofstock, Wakestock and a Church of Scientology protest.
I am a graduate of the esteemed
Photojournalism program at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ont. I also have a
Journalism degree from
Ryerson University. With these credentials I work seamlessly as a writer-photographer or a photographer-writer.
I grew up in an artistic household:
My father, Peter Cullman, is an award-winning goldsmith/jewellery designer and
my brother, Yehudah is a talented visual artist. I first discovered photography as a child at art camp. When I rediscovered its beauty as an adult, it ignited my passion to tell stories with pictures as well as with words.
Most of the images showcased on this website are for sale. You can purchase prints in various sizes by clicking on the Add to Cart link. There are also some elegant framing options to choose from. I have created a beautiful 2010 calendar with 15 photographs of mine, now available through Lulu to
preview and order.
All photos ©Roger Cullman. Please call or email me to license any of my photos for commercial use. I'm currently booking editorial, portrait, wedding and corporate event photography in the Toronto area for Spring 2010.
